Radiologic Mammography Technologist
Location: Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Position Overview:
U.S. Got People is seeking experienced Radiologic Mammography Technologists to provide imaging services to active duty service members at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Certification:
• Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience:
• Minimum of 12 consecutive months of experience as a Mammography Technologist within the last 24 months, including work with digital imaging
• Licensure/Registration: Active member of the ARRT-M registry

Immunization Requirements  (Must be current or able to obtain):

• Hepatitis B (series and titer)
• Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
• Varicella (Chickenpox)
• TB (Tuberculosis) test
• Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
• COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Perform routine and complex mammography exams, including stereotactic and mammotomy procedures, and basic breast ultrasound procedures
• Use MHS Genesis, Mammography Record System (MRS), and PACS to log, track, and transmit patient data and images
• Accurately position patients and adjust equipment to ensure high-quality imaging; provide clear instructions and compassionate care throughout the procedure
• Assess mammograms for technical quality, identify abnormalities or anatomical changes, and determine the need for additional imaging views
• Correlate clinical history with imaging requirements; consult with referring physicians as needed
• Conduct daily equipment maintenance, quality control, and calibrations in accordance with ACR, manufacturer, and hospital protocols
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions through appropriate channels
• Maintain adequate supplies and ensure exam rooms are properly stocked and organized
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response when necessary
• Observe and report any conditions requiring radiologist attention
