Position Summary:
U.S. Got People is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Medical Assistant (PRN) to support clinical operations at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center. Position Details:

  • Schedule: PRN; shift times will be determined based on clinic needs
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate
  • Work Environment: Federal facility supporting military service members
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited medical assistant training program, or a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program
Certification:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience:
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 3 years
Immunization Requirements  (Must be current or able to obtain):
  • Hepatitis B (series and titer)
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • TB (Tuberculosis) test
  • Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
  • COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)
Responsibilities May Include:
  • Retrieve and maintain patient medical records
  • Assist providers during exams and procedures
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas
  • Verify chart completion and documentation
  • Obtain lab and imaging results for review
  • Answer phones and relay messages accurately
  • Report and manage damaged or unsafe equipment
  • Support patient flow and provide basic direct care as instructed
  • Contact patients regarding appointments and follow-up
  • Schedule appointments and manage reminders
  • Scan and upload patient documents into electronic records
  • Perform receptionist and clerical support duties
