Ultrasound Technologist (Day Swing)
Location: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Qualifications
• Education: Completion of an Ultrasound education program approved by ARDMS
Certification:
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• CPR (BLS) Certification
Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of post-training ultrasound experience
• At least 1 year in a hospital setting
• Note: Graduates who completed clinical training at WRNMMC may qualify under an entry-level contract exemption
• Licensure: Valid, unrestricted license in at least one U.S. state or territory
Additional Requirements
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics
• Proficient in general, vascular, and Doppler ultrasound procedures
• Experience with PACS and MHS Genesis (Cerner) systems
• Compliance with facility requirements including flu and COVID-19 vaccinations (unless exempt), and fit testing
Immunization Requirements (Current or Obtainable)
• Hepatitis B (series + titer)
• Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
• Varicella (Chickenpox)
• TB test
• Seasonal Flu vaccine
• COVID-19 vaccine
References Required
• Two (2) professional letters of recommendation dated within the last two years, attesting to clinical skills.
• Must include reference's name, title, phone number, date, address, and signature
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to:
• Abdomen, pelvis, obstetric (1st-3rd trimester), neonatal, vascular, thyroid, scrotal, and transplant imaging
• Assist in interventional procedures in radiology, OR, and specialty clinics
• Use and manage PACS and MHS Genesis (Cerner) systems
• Respond to STAT and routine imaging orders; document findings using IPASS
• Participate in staff training, competency assessments, and emergency protocols
• Mentor student technologists and resident physicians
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and all WRNMMC protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff for patient care coordination
