Preparing for Your Career
Navigating the requirements for healthcare careers within federal settings can be challenging due to the stringent hiring process established by the government. Hyv is here to guide and prepare you to meet these requirements.
Applying for an Open Position
Explore hundreds of career opportunities on our Job Openings page. When you find the right fit click “apply” and, with a few quick steps, your application and resume are sent directly to the staffing company employer. Hyv applications often receive preferential treatment from our staffing company partners, who recognize the superior preparation of our candidates.
Credentialing
After you’ve interviewed with our staffing partners, they will ask you for the documents you have prepared (in Step 2) and walk you through the credentialing process.
Throughout this process it is crucial to be honest and forthcoming. This includes disclosing any prior arrests, convictions, and major life events, regardless of when they occurred or how difficult they are to share. Prepare to open up. This part of the process can be uncomfortable and emotional at times. That said, events in your past will not necessarily disqualify you from the position, but failing to disclose or tell the truth certainly will.
Screening and Security
The government will screen your application and all of the supporting documents for security clearance and acceptance. This process can take 4 to 6 weeks or more. During this time the government may ask additional questions and request more information. There may even be periods of inactive communication. Throughout this process, it is crucial for you to be responsive, stay patient and remain focused on the opportunity ahead.
