Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 0630-1530, 0700-1600, or 0730-1630

U.S. Got People (USGP) is seeking a Medical Billing Clerk (JVBOC) to support our nation's service members, veterans, and their families at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Alaska. What We're Looking For:

• Education: High School diploma or GED required
• Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience OR Certification as RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
• Typing: 40 words per minute
• Knowledge: Basic medical terminology required

Immunization Requirements  (Must be current or able to obtain):

• Hepatitis B (series and titer)
• Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
• Varicella (Chickenpox)
• Tuberculosis (TB) test
• Current Influenza vaccine
• COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)

What You'll Do:

Your role will be essential to the billing and collections process within the Military Treatment Facility. Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Educate patients and staff on billing procedures and required forms,
• Manage Medical Service Accounts and Affirmative Claims in accordance with DHA and UBO guidelines
• Identify and verify insurance coverage through internal systems and direct communication with insurers
• Input and update insurance information in CHCS, AHLTA, MHS GENESIS, TPOCS, and other government systems
• Review medical records for billing accuracy and clarification
• Prepare and submit claims to third-party payers (UB-04, CMS-1500, or electronic forms)
• Follow up on claims to ensure timely payment and case resolution
• Coordinate with the Admissions and Dispositions Office for authorizations and pre-certifications
