Hyv was founded by an Army-trained optometrist and retired colonel who made his mark building a successful federal contract healthcare staffing company. From that experience, he saw an opportunity to bring more value to the industry—by better preparing and upskilling civilian healthcare professionals for careers in federal medical settings, and by collaborating with multiple employers to thoughtfully pool job opportunities across the military healthcare system.

Inspired by the frustration of watching healthcare workers navigate scattered listings and disconnected processes when searching for their next role, he envisioned an energized ecosystem—Hyv—that brings healthcare professionals and employers together, keeping talent engaged, supported, and connected throughout their careers serving our military and their families, veterans, and humanitarian patient populations.

With that vision in place, he brought on a physician assistant and seasoned multi-business owner who shared the colonel’s commitment to service and innovation. Together, they built and launched Hyv— a collaborative community where preparation, opportunity, and mission come together.
